 Induction Light Information...
Lamp Life Comparison Graph illustrates that Induction Lights last 100,000 hours, or FIVE TIMES as long as the HPS lights that last 20,000 hours.
Lamp Life Comparison Graph 2 illustrates the same concept of durability in a different way.
There it can be seen that ONE Induction Light outlives FIVE HPS Lights.
Now, the Scotopic Scale Lighting Level Graph indicates by which factor each of the existing technologies is to be multiplied in order to obtain the amount of light that the human eye actually perceives.
Induction Lights are a complete revolution in lighting as outlined next:
Compared to conventional HID (Mercury Vapor, Metal Halide, High Pressure Sodium):
• They use less than half the electrical energy
• They slash CO2 emissions to less than half
• They last 5 times longer (see graph). Maintenance costs plummet
• They use only a fraction of the Mercury
• They last 5 times longer. Mercury release is 1/5, over time
• They have zero re-start time cold or hot
• They produce a much better quality (white) light
• Their color rendering is excellent
• They produce more light (lumens) even though they use half the energy
• They have no ballast (which draw lots of energy, drag power factor and fail)
• They have no end caps (which often induce failures)
• They have no pins (which hinder a good contact and often cause failures)
• They are cool (literally)
• They have a high power factor (0.99) and low harmonic distortion
• They are flicker-free and
• They can come with built-in wireless surveillance cameras.
Now, when we compare LED lights to Induction lights we have that:
• LED lights run on less electrical energy, therefore
• LED lights and CFLs are the best choice for indoor low-lumen lighting, but
• LED lights have proven not to be ready yet for outdoor lighting.
• LED lights are not ready yet for indoor high-lumen lighting
